Saving the grand oaks, including one with a 40-foot canopy, became a passion at the new Grande Oaks Preserve at The Meadows, 5130 DeSoto Road.
“We saved far more trees than mandated,” said Don Bevins, managing partner of the development company. “It s the most beautiful natural site in Sarasota. It s a rural environment, just minutes from Interstate 75 and downtown Sarasota.”
The 125 condominiums in 10 buildings, design by Yehuda Inbar, will take up just 12 of the 30 acres. The first building will be ready in June and the second before the end of the year. Bevins recently brought in Michael Saunders & Company as sales agent, “and we ve seen our sales accelerate.
With our attention to detail, the $300,000 to $600,000 prices are good value now and will probably increase over $100,000 before completion.”
